  • Solid State Physics
  • Crystallography

  • Understanding the growth of oxide thin films and nanostructures, with in situ Synchrotron Radiation techniques, to construct functional oxide materials from the atom up.
Growth methods : Metal Organic Chemical Vapor Deposition (MOCVD), Atomic Layer Deposition (ALD), Chemical Bath Deposition (CBD).

  • Advanced structural and chemical characterization of nanostructures and nanomaterials either ex situ or in situ with Synchrotron Radiation.
Example of techniques are : Multi-wavelength Anomalous X-ray Diffraction (MAD), X-ray spectroscopy in diffraction condition (DAFS), X-ray absorption spectroscopy, which are used for measuring strain, composition, short-range atomic order, polarity, ... The experiments are performed mainly at the ESRF (Grenoble, France)  and SOLEIL (St Aubin, France) synchrotron radiation facilities.
