Abstract
In order to gain a deeper insight into the behaviour of silver nanowire (AgNW) networks (or metallic nanowire networks in general) numerical simulations are performed based on Monte Carlo method. Effect of symmetries on percolation threshold of random networks has been studied. Furthermore, integration of silver nanowire based electrodes in solar cells and modelling of the collection efficiency of photo-generated carriers associated to such electrodes has been investigated. On the experimental section we have studied the effect of metal oxide coatings on the stability of AgNWs based electrodes. Electrical, Mechanical and thermal stability of such composite layers have also been studied.
