Adsorption and aggregation of proteins at material surfacesS

OBJECTIVES

Using recombinant proteins obtained from naturally adhesive protein sequences, we study their ability to self-assemble and amyloid fibres in contact with material surfaces and air. This strategy could be exploited for the development of new biomimetic adhesives, that are sticky in dry or wet conditions

A recombinant protein inspired from the sequence of a Megabalanus rosa cement protein can be produced in soluble form and is able to self-assemble into a fibrous network on a material surface. .
