Advanced Functional Materials

OBJECTIVES
  • Synthesis of thin films, heterostructures, multilayers and supperlattices of functional materials
  • Correlation of physical properties with structure and external parameters (stress, strain, magnetic field, temperature…).
  • Study of phase transitions and interface properties.

Current breakthroughs in smart functional materials are based on correlations induced by strong electronic interactions leading to remarkable physical properties. New functionalities can be amplified and tuned by external parameters (stress, strain at interfaces, magnetic field, temperature…) particularly when these materials are prepared as multilayers or superlattices.
