Films Minces, Nanomatériaux et Nanostructures (FM2N) More

FM2N leading activity is the chemical synthesis of low dimensional materials (i.e. thin films, nanostructures), mainly oxides, for applied and fundamental studies. We focus on optimizing the synthesis and properties of functional nanomaterials and heterostructures as well as materials functionalities through the control and fundamental understanding of growth mechanisms, structure-properties relationships, reactions at interfaces and functionalization processes.

Currently, the main targeted applications include renewable energies, information and communication technologies (third generation photovoltaics and optoelectronics, micro- & nanoelectronics, and sensors), as well as self-cleaning and/or surfaces with tailored wettability. The FM2N team comprises both physico-chemists and physicists.

We possess a strong expertise in the design and fabrication of tailored deposition equipment and characterization instruments. We are thus able to adapt techniques in order to reach our objectives. Our main developments are in the field of:
The lab is equipped with a battery of chemical techniques for materials synthesis. Structural, morphological and physical characterization techniques, as well as nanofabrication facilities are available in-house and in Grenoble through different characterization and technological platforms.
