A series of 4 seminars to get an overview of the essential techniques for structural characterization of materials, whether they are solid samples or thin films, mono-or polycrystalline is programmed at LMGP. This will also be a unique opportunity to exchange and share our ideas and to discuss our practice in the laboratory.
These 4 seminars will be regrouped in one single day. This day is dedicated to everyone but more specifically to doctoral and postdoctoral students, specialist or not, as well as LMGP's staff or not. Each seminar of 1h30 maximum, will be followed by 15' for discussion. Questions such as : what is the principle of the technique ?, what kind of information can be collected ?, on which type of sample ?, what type of equipment ?, will be addressed. Examples will be selected among researchs done at LMGP whenever possible, and essential practical information will given. The 1st part will address X-ray diffraction and Raman spectroscopy, techniques which are widely used in LMGP. The 2nd part is devoted to techniques specific to large scale facilities such as synchrotron & nuclear reactor (ESRF & ILL in Grenoble).
