"The hottest and most interesting state-of-the-art research activities carried out in manganite thin films grown by metal-organic chemical vapor deposition (MOCVD) are reported. The main strategies to tailor their physical properties, such as the impact of the substrate-induced strain, the defect density, or the influence of stoichiometry in the nanostructured films, are highlighted. " Relevant examples of their implementation and integration in miniaturized devices aiming to their future use in information storage, field-effect sensing, and spintronics applications, are also presented.
